This 500 g platinum bar is a product, which is exclusively produced by LPPM-certified Manufacturers. The bars carry the logos of the big Manufacturers like Heraeus, Umicore or others. These bars are foil sealed, mostly within blisters. On the platinum bars you find the weight of 500 g, the precious metal used, the fineness (999,5/1000) and the manufacturers label.
Platinum is a rarity amongst precious metals, not only because of its rareness, but because it experiences supply shortages quite regularly. Three-quarters of the yearly mined platinum come from South Africa. There are only a few platinum investment products. Well known bullion coins are the Maple Leaf, the American Eagle, the Australian Koala and the Nobel of the Isle of Man. Platinum bars are also not widespread and therefore have scarcity value.
